Party in da 'Sac'

Memorial Day Weekend wouldn't be the same without
The Party in the Sac.
There is just nothing like good ol' fashioned fun...
Bring your meat to grill, your chairs, and whatever else brings you joy.
For the O Man, it was his Spidey Scooter!
A Potluck Dinner - with all the fixin's!
(Well, I shot the wrong person's plate to exemplify what a spread we had!)
This year they had a DJ Station that was awesome! He had I-Pads you could go request songs from...even the kiddo's! So, of course, I hooked up the crowd with a little "Ice Ice Baby" and "U Can't Touch This!" :-)
Owen got his Groove Thang on!
Oh yeah...
Lauren & Ella took a break from groovin' to pose for a Party Pic
Mid-way through the night was the much anticipated Water Balloon Toss - last year's winner (Abby Lou & I) decided to switch things up and have...
Big Daddio give it a try!
And guess what...they won!
(Unfort I missed the pic of Dr. Segnar taking the winning balloon & popping it over Abby's sweet little head...ha!)
Next up...MJ's *THRILLER
Zombies arose
And Cowboy Curt turned into the Head Zombie...MJ Himself!
The kids, I mean Zombies, were magnetized to the Man in the Hat...well, until the song was over.
*The Cupid Shuffle*
PYT's - Pretty Young Things
We ended the night around 10:30 p.m. with Bella jivin' at the DJ Station
Finally, Daddio drug me away from my friends to get the kids home to bed. Wasn't ready to go - the fun was too good! And, because the Ralstons are moving, it is our last year to be on the guest list. (insert sad face)
Needless to say, it is a party that compares to no other...and we are so grateful to have experienced it for the past 3 years! Who knows...maybe there will be a 'Party in the Sac' in Arkansas!

The weather was perfect & the kids had an absolute ball playing on a large, level backyard - something us Ruley's can't relate with.
And FYI: There is simply nothing cuter than sweaty little boys!
a little jumpin'
a little ridin'
and of course, a little huggin' :-)
Melissa & Blake - we will miss u guys so so much!

An Eternally Loved Sister

My dearest, life long friend Elizabeth (see post below)
lost her her one and only sister, Laura Jensen, to cancer on Friday, May 27th, 2011.
Laura was one of the most beautiful, vibrant women I ever knew. She was the always full of life, joy and love. She was the best big sister you could ever imagine...I remember always wishing that she was my big sister too. And, in a way, she was. When you grow up across the street from someone from the age of one through high school, they are like family.
Our prayers were for a miraculous healing for her body, but sometimes the *miracle is on the other side. As Lizzy told me on Thursday, "God must have some serious blessings coming from this."
(Rom. 8:28, Jer 29:11)
Words cannot express how much Laura was loved and will be missed. And, honestly...I still haven't wrapped my mind around the fact that she is gone. I never thought this day would come...and my heart is still fighting the idea.
Thankfully, due to the promises of our Heavenly Father, Laura is in His presence at this very moment. The heavens greatly rejoiced as she entered the gates...and we will see her again. This life is but a breath...eternal life is forever.
(Laura with Elizabeth & her daughter Elizabeth, Dec '10)
 2 Corinthians 5:1

1 For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Philippians 3:20-21
20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

John 6:40
40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son and believes in him should have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 11: 25-27

25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" 27 She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world."

Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

John 14:1-3
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in Me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.

Piano Princesses

Spring 2011 Piano Recital
It was a beautiful May evening that began with a dinner at our favorite spot...
and then a few pre-recital pics in the garden!
We were so excited that their recital was moved to our home church, Asbury UMC
Abby, Ella, Sarah & Anna ~ friends from church who also take from Miss Sandi
I guess this means they are Ready to Go!
 About to begin...

 The Line Up
Ella Bella heads toward Black Beauty
and plays her little heart out
Oh how this Momma loves to watch her girls play this beautiful instrument...
and I adore the pics where you can see their little legs not yet reaching the ground
Abby Lou's turn
playing the classic "Fur Elise" like a true Princess would
Her feet now barely touching ground
All smiles as she lands her last note
We were blessed with the most beautiful piece played by Miss Sandi...it was a compilation of "You are My Hiding Place" and "Majesty"...Heavenly!
Loved on by Nana, Grandad & Mimi as they head for Treats!
"Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might..."
I Chronicles 13:8
