Perfect Pairings ~ Exodus 24:17

To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.

Family Values

Wanted to share the neatest list of family values that I read about in last month's Focus on the Family new magazine -

THRIVING FAMILY.
http://go.family.org/thrivingfamily/

It was a wonderful article on the actor Kirk Cameron, his wife and their six children.
He shared that they have Five Family Values that they live by:
*Love God
*Family First
*Tell the Truth
*Be Kind
and

*Work Hard

So simple, yet so succinct.
Kirk & his wife Chelsea will be speaking at one of the upcoming Focus on the Family's Marriage Simulcast on 2/27/10.

If you don't know much about him, his story and his ministry...you should definitely take time to do so. What a courageous Man of God he is! And, if you and your spouse have not seen the movie FIREPROOF (came out last year), you simply MUST rent it!

What are your Family's Values?

Will I ever catch up?!

Sometimes I feel that life is passing me by, not slowly either, but with ropes of steam and spark-spattered wheels and a hoarse roar of power or terror. It's passing, yet I'm the one who's doing all the moving.
~Martin Amis, Money

Don't know about you...but I need more time!
I LOVE my life, I love my kids, my husband, my friends, my family...yet, I simply do not have enough time.

I get up early. I make lists...I check them twice. I have skipped my workout twice this week to try to catch up. Still behind. Projects never ending. Kids homework daily. Photo albums yearning to be up to date.

I am in constant motion...yet, still can't seem to catch up.

Guess I need to accept that this is just the way it is.
Life is hard, but GOD IS GOOD.
Life is a wild roller coaster, but GOD IS CONSTANT.
Life is unpredictable & trying...GOD IS FAITHFUL.

And in the end, all my moving means nothing if I am not in line with God's Will. He is the Maker and Keeper of all things...including my time.

Perfect Pairings ~ Luke 10:38-42

Now as they went on their way, he entered a certain village, where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to what he was saying. But Martha was distracted by her many tasks; so she came to him and asked, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her then to help me." But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her.
Luke 10:38-42

Perfect Pairings ~ Psalm 4:8

My baby's last night in his crib. The kids all wanted to say their farewells.
Owen was the first to not be kicked out to make room for the next little one.
What a joy it was to not be in a rush to grow him up.
After having a crib up for the past 10 1/2 years...it is an emotional transition for this girl.
For Daddy, not so much.
My little guy in his new bed.
I must say, he absolutely LOVES it...and, he has slept like an Angel.
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:8
